Full casting announced for festival of letters at the Bunker Theatre


A rotating cast of 13 will take part in the upcoming festival of letters at the Bunker Theatre, it has been announced.

My White Best Friend and Other Letters Left Unsaid will be performed at the theatre for one week from 18th March, after the production was first staged at the Bush Theatre in 2017 during the Black Lives Black Words festival.

The production will ask questions about race, identity and culture as different performers take to the stage to read a set of different letters every night without having seen the letters prior to performing. Each night's line-up will be shared online on the day of the performance.

The cast of My White Best Friend and Other Letters Left Unsaid includes Cherelle Skeete whose theatre credits include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre and Fun Home at the Young Vic, Danny Lee Wynter whose credits include Cell Mates at Hampstead Theatre and Much Ado About Nothing at the Old Vic and Rosie Day who lent her voice to Watership Down for the BBC.

Casting is completed by Ben Bailey Smith, Inès de Clercq, Phoebe Fox, Zainab Hasan, Nick Holder, George MacKay, Shvorne Marks, Tom Moutchi, Chris Sonnex and Ria Zmitrowicz.

Letters read as part of My White Best Friend and Other Letters Left Unsaid feature the writings of Zia Ahmed, Travis Alabanza, Fatimah Ashgar, Nathan Bryon, Matilda Ibini, Jammz, Iman Qureshi, Anya Reiss, Nina Segal and Tolani Shoneye.

My White Best Friend and Other Letters Left Unsaid is at the Bunker Theatre from 18th to 23rd March.
